Enamored

I didn’t mean
to be enamoured
by you
but my wayward heart is
beguiled by your charm
bewitched by your smile
bedazzled by your wit

I didn’t want
to see you
in my dreams
but my eager eyes were
enraptured by your face
enthralled by your lips
enticed by your gaze

I want only
to wipe you
from my memory
clean out
the spaces
you lovingly occupy
in my heart
rid the air
of your scent
So I can
breathe again
live again
love again
