New, But Familiar

A new dance, a rhythm strangely familiar

As though I once swayed to its beat

New steps tease my mind, but my feet seem to remember

as though they once moved in tandem

New sensations flood my veins,

my heated skin recalls past embraces

New feelings stir, memories shake off
cobwebs of neglect

I feel myself blossom

So this is how it feels
to have the sun slip
out of the clouds
and shine on me again
