Unseen Sunsets

Midweek Motif (Poets United): Today your poems must be connected with birds. It may include fictional birds or even bird watching.

They frolic in the branches
outside my window,
flit from tree to tree

Perched side by side
they twitter secrets in song
heads tilted coyly

In a flurry, wings whirring
they speed away
a splash of green

against the blue sky,
Red beaks remind me
of the sunset yet to be seen
