How Far Must I Run

All the words you never said
haunt me in my dreams
So I wake and run from them
The farther I go
the more my mind stills

The breath labouring
from my lungs
echoes in my ears
drowning all thought

The sweat running
down my face
washes away sorrow

But my steps
bring me back
to where I started
My feet give up
the chase for peace
My mind frantic
once more

How far must I run
before I forget
where I came from
