We All Bleed The Same

Roses
come in many colours
We admire them all equally
Assign them qualities
red for love
yellow for friendship
white for purity

Birds
with vivid plumage
We admire them all equally
vibrant green of parrots
pretty pink of flamingos
brilliant blue of peacocks

Humans
have lovely shades too
White
Ivory
Brown
Black
But admiration
turns to contempt
And when the blood
gushes unheeded
does nobody notice
it flows the same red
from everyone?
