Peeled Away

A slinky red dress
plunging to great depths
to meet a slit riding high

stilettos the colour
of freshly drawn blood
elevate the senses

toss back Bloody Marys
to peel away inhibitions
worn like a second skin

Mould myself to your length
dance as if I’ll die tomorrow
If another day should dawn

I’ll relive this night forever,
learning something new
each time I look back
